Season's Greetings – BOO!

Yesterday was Halloween, although you wouldn't know it here because it hasn't caught on the way Christmas has. (Turks can get into the idea of lights, trees, and even Santa, but the notion of sending your kid around dressed up as a monster – or, worse, Hillary Clinton – is still pretty foreign to them.) Ah, but the holidays are all connected: Last night, in lieu of trick-or-treating, we were watching Las Vegas on TV and lo and behold, it was a Christmas episode, complete with dying friends, orphans, families reuniting, the works. A cute coincidence.
