A nice Mother's Day outing

Yesterday was Mother's Day, and we, with our newly (and exponentially) increased respect for the office of motherhood, decided to have a nice outing with the family. So when I came home from teaching, Meltem and I, her mom, and the clan of cousin Melek all went off to Meltem's university for a little together time. We were actually in approximately the same place Meltem and I got married, for those of you with long memories. Here are some pictures that Hasan took.

Ladies and gentlemen, behold the lovely mothers. The tower in the background is a fortress built by Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror when he was besieging Constantinople in 1453.

And here's more of the family. Ozan, as usual, is letting us know just what he thinks.

Here's Joe Cool in a slightly less truculent state of mind. (I mean Ozan, not me, although the potential confusion is understandable.)

Part of the fun of being a dad is introducing my boy to the Manly Arts.

(Disclaimer: Don't even think that we let a single bubble of this stuff pass Ozan's lips. It was all for ME, thank you very much.)

Priceless! Seeing Ozan in the sunglasses is priceless.

Happy belated Mother's Day! Of course, Ozan stole the show. :^)
