Low tolerance for oppression

By the way, I decided not to go to Syria. I decided the foul odor of totalitarianism would overwhelm any enjoyment I got out of the Islamic architecture, much as was the case when I went to Iran in 2004. Oh well, the architecture isn't going anywhere, but hopefully the goons running the place are (Deo volente, to the gallows).
